Titan BattleGear Neck Guard Baselayer Shirt – User Guide & Safety Information

This baselayer shirt integrates cut-resistant protection in the neck, wrists, and clavicle areas using our proprietary TITANOTEX™ material. It is designed to reduce the risk of skate blade lacerations and improve comfort and coverage while maintaining high-performance fit and thermoregulation.

Purpose & Protection

Our neck laceration protector baselayer is engineered to reduce the risk of direct laceration injuries from skate blades in covered areas. This garment is not intended to protect against blunt trauma, puck impacts, or other injury types.

How to Wear

  • The baselayer is designed with a fitted athletic cut. It should be worn directly against the skin.

  • Carefully slide the shirt over your head and position the integrated collar so that it fully covers the front and sides of the neck.

  • Ensure the ARC~GUARD™ collar lies flat and does not fold or bunch under the chin or around the ears.

  • Stretch ProCurve™: Pull over the head. The collar should rebound snugly around the neck. Ensure the collar fits snugly around the neck and returns to shape after donning.

  • Velcro: Secure the neck closure comfortably—tight enough to remain in position during play but not restrict breathing or movement.

Important Warnings

  • This shirt only reduces risk of laceration from skate blades in covered areas.

  • It does not eliminate all risks, especially against direct impact.

  • Protection is compromised if the shirt:

    • Doesn’t fit properly

    • Is worn incorrectly

    • Is damaged, contaminated, or altered

  • Always inspect before use. Replace if torn, frayed, punctured, or worn.

  • No product can guarantee complete protection from all injuries.

  • This shirt only provides protection in areas where cut-resistant material is present and properly positioned.

  • Improper fit, adjustment, use, or maintenance can significantly reduce effectiveness.

  • Contamination, damage, alterations, or wear can also degrade protective performance.

  • 1) type E2 neck laceration protector provides only partial protection for the neck;

     

  • 2) to minimize the risk of injury, type E1 neck laceration protector with a bib is recommended.

Care & Maintenance

  • Wash in cold water on gentle cycle using mild detergent.

  • Do not bleach, iron, dry clean, or use fabric softeners.

  • Hang dry or tumble dry on low. Do not store when damp.

  • Avoid harsh environments or high heat when storing.

  • Do not apply decals, paints, or chemical treatments that could compromise material integrity.

  • Inspect shirt before each use. Replace immediately if material is frayed, torn, punctured, or showing signs of wear that may reduce cut resistance.

Storage Guidelines

  • Store in a cool, dry place.

  • Avoid folding or compressing the collar long-term.

  • Do not store while damp or soiled.
